Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

• A protocol that allows a hardware or network communicate using the numbering system for identification.
• known as an Internet Protocol address

(IP Address)

• Authority IANA ( Internet Assigned Numbers Authority )
• IPv4 and IPv6

What is IP ?

• Numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer)
• For 1GOV*NET ip address allocated by Government Integrated Telecommunication Network (GiTN) Sdn Bhd.

e.g. ip address 172.156.1.1
subnet 255.255.255.0 (meaning…)
ip start from 172.156.1.1 to 172.156.1.254 = 254 hosts/ip address

NETWORK

Network is connection of two or more hardware / computer device that can be connected to each other either by cable or without cable (wireless). Example; PC, printer, plotter and etc.

THE BENEFITS of network are;

Make easier to communicate

Allow the sharing of files, data, and information other types

Sharing Hardware and software

TOPOLOGY

Arrangement or physical layout of computer hardware, cables and other components in the network.

TOOLS AND FUNCTIONS

Router, Bandwidth Management, Firewall, Switch, Rack, Patch Panel (UTP and Fiber), 

Cable Management Unit (CMU), Patch Cord, Modular Jack and Faceplate, Network Interface Controller (NIC), Modular Plug (RJ45). the figure will show in Industrial Training Report.

# I used modular plug (rj45) which is the cable to make connection to the server of JKR. Other than that, the function of this cable to make a connection for internet. Moreover, it is very functioning which easier for me to find such materials to complete the task given which is the development of website.
